PALMA-CABRERA-DRAGONERA-PALMA 110 nm

For those who have rented a boat in Palma de Mallorca, this route presents a great variety of contrasts, just 25 nautical miles away from the capital, we can find the national park of Cabrera, located just 10 miles from Sa Ràpita, at the south of the island. In Cabrera we can find buoys, which are subject to availability, don’t forget to make your reservation!
For more information about Cabrera check our blog entry

Day 1: Palma-Sa Ràpita, 25 nm
Those who wish can stop at the buoy field in Cala Blava or go directly to Cabo Blanco, the southernmost cape in Palma bay. Just behind it we can find the little and well-known Cala Pi. Just 5 nm from there, Sa Ràpita is in the occidental fringe of the large and well known beach of Es Trenc.

Day 2: Sa Rapita-Cabrera, 15 nm
We suggest to anchor and go for a swim in Es Trenc beach or at the Southwest of Colonia Sant Jordi by the beach Es Carbó. We recommend you to make sure that you bring the necessary provisions before crossing to Cabrera, where buoys can be used from 18.00 h.

Day 3: Cabrera-Portals Vells, 30 nm
As we commented in our entry about Cabrera, there are several routes available around the island on foot like the visit to the castle, the museum, the blue cave…before 18:00h. it is recommendable to head to Portals Vells, there are bars and restaurants on the beaches. If there is East wind blowing, the best place to go is the bay of Santa Ponsa.

Day 4: Portals Vells- Andratx Port, 10 nm
This is a short route, so you will have time to enjoy the lighthouse of Cala Figuera. Visitors are usually surprised by the strong fortifications of the Majorcan coast.
Andratx port still has the charm of a small fishing port although it has 450. You can find many bars and restaurants, shops and two small beaches.

Day 5: Andratx Port-Dragonera-Sant Elmo, 10 nm
Anchoring in Dragonera and a free visit to the island and its lighthouse. Night in Sant Elmo renting a buoy or anchoring. There are several restaurants, the water is crystal clear and full of marine fauna. For those visitors who wish to enjoy the sights in Dragonera, it would be ideal to walk to the guard tower in Cala Basset or to the monastery of Trapa.

Day 6: Sant Elmo-Palma, 20 nm
A bit of sailing and going for a last swim at Illetas bay, usually a bit crammed with anchored boats, which is a little unpleasant if there is wind blowing from the Southeast. Heading back to Palma before 17:00h., filling the deposit and checking out with the technical staff. Walking at night around Jaime III and having dinner at the old town area ending your best holidays with Cruesa.
